Based on reviews, created with AI
Rating Distribution

LinkedIn has a 1.9 star rating from 1790 customer reviews, with 10% likely to recommend. Rating distribution shows 77% unfavorable and 14% positive. Consumers cite poor customer service, frequent account restrictions and verification failures; 60% say LinkedIn should improve its customer service and many request a refund. Key Takeaways for Future Customers

  • Prepare government ID and backup contact details before relying on the platform for critical work or membership access.
  • Expect limited live support; check billing and subscriptions carefully to avoid unexpected charges.
  • Consider account recovery risks when using LinkedIn for recruiting or job applications.

Negative Feedback / Risk Areas

  • Frequent account restrictions and failed identity verification leave users locked out and losing business, a top LinkedIn customer complaints theme.
  • Reports of no phone support or timely responses mean unresolved issues persist.
  • Billing disputes, unauthorized charges, and difficulties obtaining refunds and cancelling subscriptions are common.
  • Security incidents and hacked accounts with slow recovery create privacy and access risks.

Positive Feedback

Users still value LinkedIn for professional networking, strong business networking features and job search visibility; some cases are eventually resolved.

Linkedin has harassed and abused millions of account holders. The Linkedin supposed "AI" and other automated systems do NOT WORK - Almost all their fake customer service and fake tech support - are in India and all the problems Linkedin systems cause are ignored - Linkedin has a completely monopoly in the employement/network industry - and has millions of account holders are being coerced into uploading drivers license information and other information that are dangerous to give to strangers especially online - apparently there was a lawsuit against in which over 700 million account holders were injured by Linkedin

  • - Second LinkedIn account is restricted; verification followed selfie and license; a second account was opened for freelance recruiting tied to HRBP.
Unable to access My Second LinkedIn Account

My second linked account is restricted. I have been on my second account all day, and all of a sudden, verification is needed.

I provided the information with a live selfie and my state-issued driver's license. My first LinkedIn account is connected to two Gmail accounts: iamyourhrbusinesspartner@***.com and benefitscounselor2012@***.com.

I opened a second account using my carmen.sanders.hrbpconsulting@***.com because I wanted to use my freelance recruiting partner position, given the overlap with my recent HR Business Partner certification. My 980 mobile number is linked to my iamyourhrbusinesspartner@***.com email address.

Assistance Required for LinkedIn Account Verification

AI Highlights
  • - User asks LinkedIn support to verify account; Iraqi ID (back) rejected.
  • - They seek which ID forms are accepted for Iraq and how to verify.

Dear LinkedIn Support,

I am writing to request assistance with verifying my account. I have been asked to provide a government-issued ID or passport.

I submitted my Iraqi government ID, but the system did not accept it, particularly the back side of the ID.

I selected Iraq as my country, but the verification process still fails.

Could you please clarify which forms of identification are accepted for users in Iraq, and guide me on how I can successfully verify my account? I rely on LinkedIn for professional opportunities, and resolving this issue is very important to me.

Thank you for your support.

Best regards,

Anas Aza Ahmed

LinkedIn refuses to help me restore my restricted account. They won't tell me why my account has been restricted or how to rectify it. They asked me to verify my identity which I did both through Persona and a notarized affidavit, but they still refuse to help.

Original review updated Nov 03, 2025
I have had a horrible experience with LinkedIn, and after reading several other reviews I see that I am not alone. I have never had such a poor experience from a company with such a serious lack of customer service.

There is no phone number, email address, online contact form or chat or any way to contact them. You have to find some round-about way to contact them if you have an issue. In my case I messaged their account on Facebook and thankfully someone responded and started a case ticket for me. What kind of a company provides no avenue to contact them?

In addition, I was a paying premium member. You would think a paying customer would at least get some sort of customer service, but not with LinkedIn. I joined LinkedIn in August 2025 and completed the Persona identity verification process at that time. I was actively using LinkedIn as Premium member to find another job as I was laid off from my previous job in August.

In October 2025 I could not log into my account and received a message that my account had been restricted. I didn't know why and also could not find any way to contact them as previously mentioned. When I finally found a contact on Facebook and received a case ticket, I eventually received an email telling me that I need to verify my identity. I tried the link in the email he sent to do so, but it led to a page that said Link no longer valid.

I responded to the non-customer service rep and asked why I needed to verify my identity again when I had just done that in August. I asked why my account had been restricted. He replied with no answers to my questions, but just re-sent the same link to verify my identity. I tried again with the same invalid link message, and this happened 3 times.

The lack of answers to my questions about why this was even happening along with an invalid link 3 times demonstrates a complete lack of competency with LinkedIn customer service. I eventually found a valid link on my own to submit the identity verification through Persona, but since I had already done that 2 months prior I received a message saying that I already submitted that and couldn't do it again. I tried to explain that to the useless customer service rep, but as with all of his other responses, he had no response other than to keep sending me the same invalid link. At one point he suggested I try to validate my identity by submitting a notarized affidavit.

So I spent $25 having the form notarized and sent it back to him. A few days later I received a response that said: "Unfortunately, due to the lack of legitimate identification, we are unable to fulfill your request. Your appeal has been denied. Regards, Eddy LinkedIn Trust and Consumer Support Consultant".

And at this point there doesn't seem to be anything further that I can do to try to resolve this.

They provide no real answers as to why this is even happening, and no real customer service. This is so unacceptable.

Pros:
  • Can be helpful in finding a job if you can use it

AI Highlights
  • - Account blocked for years with no explanation.
  • - I can't access or contact support.
  • - I use a different name from my IDs, so I can't verify my identity.

My account was blocked a couple of years ago; no idea why, and I have been unable to get back in or find a way to contact customer support... since apparently, I'm not a customer.

I do business under a different name from my IDs, so that won't work to verify my identity. (Legally Elizabeth, but DBA as Betsy).

We didn't have to show an ID when registering. I just want a real person to talk to.

Pros:
  • Professional connections
Cons:
  • No way to contact them

Preferred solution: I'd like my profile back, but I can't get back in because my ID's don't match the name I do business as. I don't have another email to try to set up another account, because my email is already in their system.

User's recommendation: This was not helpful at all as I was just sent back to Linked In customer support, but you can't contact them unless you are a customer. Grrrr
